BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:20 P.M.) – The Russian Navy is making their final preparations for their military drills that are being held off the coast of Syria next week, a source in Tartous told Al-Masdar News this evening.

According to the source, the Russian Navy has concentrated a large force in Tartous and near its territorial waters as they prepare to kick off their largest drills in the last several months.

The Russian military drills will concentrate mostly on their naval forces, but it will also include their aerospace forces that are currently based at the Hmeimim Base in southwestern Latakia.

Many of the Russian ships participating in these drills will be from their Black Sea Fleet, who recently made their way to the eastern Mediterranean from their home port in Sevastapol.

The Syrian military is also believed to be participating in these drills; however, at a small-scale.
